High times with Fuel distributors

Have you done so much to the car today that it just doesn't fit into one section, or are you too damn lazy to split it all up? Either way, this is the section for you.

High times with Fuel distributors

Welp, I tackeled some of the issues with the silver beast today. mainly the cold/host start problems. Being that I've gone through some much trying to track the source of the problem down, today I figured I'd replace the fuel dizzy.

Man, what a Gas and I mean that literally.

I dug up the old one from the red cabby and proceeded to clean it up. A few years of sitting around had really let it varnish up and get pretty nasty. Carb cleaner is your friend and in about 30min I had a nice clean top airbox system. So then I went to the task of removeing the current setup on the car. Fuel Ahoy! I figured letting the car sit without being started for 2 weeks would let the pressure relent and it wouldn't be so bad.

Well, there wasn't any pressure, but still plenty of fuel to be had. Broke everything down and replaced it. Got to feeling pretty good while I was at it. An before anyone says anything cute, I had the window in the garage open along with both garage bays. It kept most of the fumes dissapated, but I still got enough of them to kill some brain cells.

2 hours after starting I had everything swapped out and the car running. Trimmed the mix down a bit and played with the idle speed an all the other fun stuff. End result - cold/hot starting is still not perfect, but it's a damn site easier then it was. No more having to wait till the car is fully warmed up for it to idle, as now a few revs after a cold start does the trick and just one rev on a hot start seems to work as well.

Now if I can just track down that little hiccup thats left, this car will be about as perfect as I can get it.

She's lightened up a bit, but still not what I want. I still have some things to check, but at least at this point, she seems fairly drivable. Doesn't take long to get to idle now, so thats a major plus.
