Front/rear strut source?

Post by Hoppy »

Anyone know a source for complete struts? I'm looking for the complete ones.

I have heard that assembelled strut assemblies are avsailable at Canadian Tire. but since they aren't in the US that won't be much use to you.

When I was rebuilding Posh Bunny I bought a complete set (Front and rear) FK suspension. but I did have to assemble the struts/springs.

You might want to check places like NAPA or some VW aftermarket shop.

Hope this helps.

Did the front housings go bad? If not, all you need is the inserts (and the springs, if the springs are shot). If the car does need the entire assembly, you can find them at German Auto Parts (they used to sell the Bilstein version, but no longer; it's possible Bilstein is no longer making them). Other suppliers may have them as well. The rears don't have housings; they're simply springs over shocks.
