'89 cabby steering column

Post by Greubin »

The bottom bearing fell out of the cabby's steering column. Anyone have a part number for a replacement bearing..or better yet have a spare column they wish to sell?

That's not good.

I don't have the part number, but If I were you I'd visit my local wrecker and try to find a new steering column.

You can force it back then using a hose clamp, on the shaft to keep it bac in the housing.

If you want to fix it correctly purchase a new bearing. Springfield German Import in Oregon has the bearing in stock and he will know what you need (541-741-1842). This is a common issue. I just purchased one from them to replace mine. It was just under $30.
