Cruise control and seatbelt lights, same circuit?

Post by nabeelr »

Hi all! I'm trying to debug my cruise control and whenever I turn the switch to on, my seatbelt light comes on.

Is this normal?

I checked in the Haynes manual's wireing guild and the two seem to be totally separate, but also in the Haynes manual wireing guide there is no horn, radio, or defroster so...

Any ideas?

Should I be using the Bentley manual instead?

Thanks!

what year?

No that isn't normal.
It sounds as if there is a cross circuit going on.
Basically the Seat belt light is acting as a phantom ground for something.

I always forget to post that for some reason... It's an 88, 5 speed manual.

Thanks for posting those wireing guides!
