Radio wiring
85-89

Red 12v+ large Unswitched power need for memory B+
Brown large main frame ground
gry/blue dash light

lf spk
brn/red -
brn/gn +

You will need to get Switched power from Defroster switch black/yellow

Radio2 85-89

Red Large 12V+ unswitched power for memory b+
Brown large frame ground
grey/blue dash light

1992-93 Active Amplified 6 speakers.
Speaker amplifiers

The Bass speakers are wired from the amplifiers, and there is no color matching on them.

Left

brown/black amp t6/1 Tweater gnd
Red amp t6/2 Tweater +
brown/red amp t6/3 Midrange left gnd
blue/green amp t6/4 Midrange left +
red/gray amp t6/5 Power from f3
brown amp t6/6 ground

amp t4f/1 blue/brown to t10/9 radio
amp t4f/2 green to t10/10 radio
amp t4f/3 white/blue to t8/3 radio
amp t4f/4 red/black to t10/5 radio


Right

amp t4e/1 blue/brown to blue/red t10/7 radio
amp t4e/2 green to blue at t10/8 radio
amp t4e/3 white/blue to t8/3 radio
amp t4e/4 red/black to t10/5 radio

brown/black amp t6a/1 tweeter -

Tips
Large diameter wires are usually grnds or powers
small diameter wires are speaker

To test speaker pairs take the color designated
and touch to a 9Vdc battery you should hear a scratching or popping

Solder and heat shrink all connections.

What with Christmas time approaching and new radios are usually installed....

FWIW, the Bentley diagrams weren't 100% correct for my '86. If I can find my notes from back when I replaced the speakers and wires, I'll post up the actual wire colors that were in mine.
