HI everyone - again another oops on my 90 cabbie

The wipers only work in the normal position but when I turn them back to starting position they stop at whatever point they are at (i.e. across the windshield in an L position etc)

The intermittent wipers don't work at all nor do the faster setting.....

I tried to program them via the cabbie.info instructions but anytime i pull the lever towards me it sprays??? something is wonky??? :banghead:

Fuse relay - Info: 90 cabbie - it did work????

There is not a lot to the system, I had a very similar issue with my '88 (Posh Bunny).
sounds like the drive motor is starting to pack it in.

They are pretty cheap at your local auto wrecker ($20 or so), but are a bit of a pain to swap out.

The wiper transmission could also be starting to seize. The way to check it is once the motor drive is disconnected, the wiper arms should move easily.

I'm sorry, it's been a long time since I lived in TO, so I can't direct you to a decient wrecker, short of a road trip towards Oshawa and go to Dom's Auto Parts. I'm sure there is something closer.

The relay for the intermittent is probably bad, it is the same relay that you have for normal operation.
How to take them apart and clean them for slow speed are:
http://www.volksdevil.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=76 you will have to register.

To program them you have to use the relay out of: From cabby info.
Look for relay #357955531 or #3B0955531 (has a printed 99. on it in OEM form) found in the following vehicles:

1995-1997 Cabrio & Eurovan

1992-1994 Corrado SLC

1993-1996 Golf/Jetta 2.0L

1990-1997 Passat

The relay that you have should be: 191955531
Bottom row of relays on the Fuse panel fourth one over.
it usually has 99. Stamped on the top of it.
