Digi won't rev, cranks erraticly

Post by boschbabe »

The day after a flawless 250-mile trip my daughter's '93 auto sputtered, wouldn't rev past idle, then died. It cranks like there's water in a cylinder or the timing is advanced. Water tank is full. Dist is tight. Need direction.

I'm not a digi expert, but if the car ran great for 250 miles, did the issue start after refueling?

Could it be bad gas, or the possibility of diesel being filled into the wrong tank at the gas station?

Car was refueled for return trip of 125 miles. I'm going to try to spin the engine via the crank bolt to see if is partially locked up. My son says it might have a bearing issue.

CTS sensor bad, bad grounds, and or a Fuel pressure Regulator wonky causes starting issues.

Since it hasn't been fueled since the half way point of the trip, fuel should be good.

Of course Brian has some ideas.
