low RPM, part-throttle misfire

Post by kieferwabbit »

Hi folks,

The Wabbit has been behaving badly lately. I suppose after two weeks of decent running, he'd decided he'd had enough of that nonsense.

So, from idle-2500rpm or so, anything under 75% or so throttle has a stumble/misfire. On the highway, cruising, it's fine because it stays above 2500 for the most part, but around town, it's a pain in the butt to drive.

Where should I start poking around for the trouble? I suspect the fuel delivery might rich because even when it was running properly, I constantly smelled fuel in the exhaust. Would enough rich running foul out some plugs, and would on-their way out plugs agree with higher-rpm running but not lower?

I would check for vacuum leaks and do the CIS duty cycle and timing adjustments.
