Hi all! I have maybe a basic question regarding setting the timing on my 92 cabby.
I know that the timing should be set with the engine rpm at about 2250 rpm. However, when I turn on my timing gun with the engine at idle and watch the timing mark as I increase the rpm's, i notice that the advance stays relatively unchanged until it reaches about 2000 rpm and then jumps to 6 degrees BTDC. Is this normal? I would think it would advance more smoothly?

To time the car, it has to be up to temperature. (fan cycles once)
Unplug the Blue CTS sensor, and rev the engine to above 3000rpm 3 times, then hold it at 2250rpm.
With the timing light shining it should be 6BTDC.
With the CTS plugged in and the engine not reved above 3K it will hunt and peck.
Reving the engine above 3K 3 times with the CTS unplugged resets the ECU.
Ron, has a Static method that I use and it is dang spot on every time...Only works on digifarts.
