Help with warm starting problem

I have had this same problem on almost every Rabbit or Cabriolet I have ever known or owned. When the engine is really warmed up, like when sitting in traffic for a while, the car will not start if turned off. I went to get gas yesterday, and the car wouldn't start after filling. I waited 15-20 minutes and she turned over just fine. Then when I got home, wouldn't start again. After sitting for 1-2 hours, started up just perfectly. Please tell me what this is as it must be a common VW problem.

Is it an automatic? if you answered yes, then you need to install the heat soak fix.
When you say not start, that is the engine isn't turning over? Or it turns over but doesn't catch?

Sounds like it won't turn over at all. If that's the case and even if it isn't an automatic Brian hit the nail on the head.
