I can tell you that they make a hell of a difference. Both the Jetta and the Beetle have them and most of the time, I don't even turn the heat on in the car. Just the seats.

I thought these were silly until I had a Volvo 240 with them. Man, were they nice on cold mornings. If I'd had a heated steering wheel as well my life would have been complete.
