Finally I've started.
Well the Jetta has been kicked out of the garage, and I said enough with the cold, and snow so in came the project cabby.
Like I said there is still ice and snow all over.
The roof is shot, but that will be toward the end of the project.
The interior is almost out now. the big problem there is that it was dirty more than anything else. but the seats are in good condition for an '88.
The big plan is to convert the car into a two seat "roadster", shave the door handles and give it a new colour.
The engine will be rebuilt, but that will be next winter's part of the project.
More to come.

Thanks Ben.1lowcab wrote:cool deal! glad you finally got her out of the snow... poor thing.
can't wait to see the progress pics.
Yay the poor thing really needs help. Although it looks like it has the measels or something, the body is in good shape.
I am however replacing the left fender and driver's door (found used ones that are in good shape).
I also bought a set of Euro bumpers for it. But I need to find a set of clips (C-1 was sold out).
I don't think I am going to get too fancy, I just want to make a nice crusin' car here.
I just thought I don't have a picture of the two cabbies together. I guess I will have to fix that.

Fender and Door, seems that is what my blue one has had done... I repalced the door, and the fender has been replaced............ I imagine that is why there was 1/4 to 1/2 inch of bondo on it.

Bondo! God I hate that stuff too!
The guy I bought the car from had pounded a dent out of the driver's door, but there are more waves there than the Atlantic ocean. Not to mention a small hole.
The fender is not as bad, but I found one in much better condition, so for all the time it takes, I wil replace it too.

I did say that I needed to take a picture of my two cabbys, so here it is:
The package on top of the red one is a set of Euro bumpers I bought for it
I need to get a set of clips for them.
Any one know where I can order a set?
