Finally got one of these contraptions, a '93 Collectors Edition. Has numerous issues. Trying to get a manual before I start pummeling you people with questions. Does anyone have a usable Bentley for sale? They are $80 on ebay. Which Haynes or Chilton would work? Thanks

They usually run about 50 bucks on Amazon.
Welcome to Cabby-hood now post the ubiquitous pictures.

For a '93, neither.

Chilton's is only worthy of being kindling, and Haynes is okay if you have a CIS-era car (which your '93 is not).

As Brian said, head to Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Volkswagen-Cabrio ... 0837603629 . Used manuals start at just under $50.

I got a Haynes up to '92 at Wonderbook for $3. I also scored a John Muir air-cooled manual signed by the author.

I got my $3 Haynes '75-'92 manual today. What info in there is of no value to my '93?

Not much really, I have one and I refer to it occasionally.

YES.

In the Rain Tray (under the hood) Drivers side is the Electronic Control Unit.

Digi 1 was really a California thing limited to 90 to 91 on cars that were delivered to California.
That is why they ask is it a "C" or a "B"
The 5 number over on your VIN is the "digi1 or 2" wvwxX
Whereas X=A,B,or C After 91 all should be B
B=digi2
C=digi1

Digi2 is covered in this manual so it should be of some value. Thanks!
