Hello there.

Just bought an adorable 90 cabby. White on white with red interior. It just failed emissions though. :( passed co but failed the other two. Replacing this and that and hoping to get it to pass by next week. Any advice?

Getting a new converter
Knock sensor
Oil pressure sensor
Thermostat housing

Already put on new belts (except timing)
Power steering pump
Air filter
And oil filter

Can some one give me the link to the individual pdf bentley files. My e-reader won't read the file containing the whole thing.

Oh, and this is our fleet (minus 2 non,-running air cool)

If you have a exhaust manifold leak (most 90's that I ever owned did) will cause the NOX to go through the roof even with a new cat.

Welcome....

ps time it to 4 BTDC and change the oil prior to going there then make sure that you drive your car for about 20-25 miles to get the exhaust up to temp, and burning all the crud out of the system.

ok. I finally got the car to quit leaking coolant. (cooling hose flange) so i'm taking the car tomorrow to an exhaust shop to have a muffler and cat put on. i suppose i'll have him put new gaskets on the manifold. Should I go ahead and get a new oxygen sensor while i'm at it?

I also changed the oil & filled up the gas tank and put some sea foam in it.

That would be a wise thing to do. If the oxygen sensor's age is unknown and/or it's about as old as the car, it'll destroy that new cat converter right quick (the two components go hand-in-hand). There again, I, personally, always err on the side of preventative maintenance; unless a wearable part is new, it gets replaced while I've got everything else apart (if said part is still functioning, it gets tossed into the parts bin for a spare): replacing the motor mounts I replace the timing belt; replacing the radiator I replace the fan switch; replacing the cat converter I replace the oxy sensor... you get the idea.

Wouldn't hurt. Get the Generic one as it is 3 wire, and only 40 bucks versus 140.
You have to solder the wires to your connector, using heat shrink....but worth the trouble to save 100 bucks.
