Happy birthday Ms Cabby! 20 today.

It was Tuesday 20th April 1993 when this, the 36th Cabriolet of the day rolled off the production line at the Karmann factory in Osnabruck Germany.

Along with the last week of production, this car and the other 338 Cabriolets made there way to Australia.

That is excellent.
I assume you are the original owner. So it's nice to meet a a fellow long timer (I've had mine for 26 years, also since new).

Any way I'm glad you have shared your car and story with us.

Welcome to TRF.

No, the first owner sold after 13 years then I purchased the car. Most of the service history and bill of sale came with the vehicle.

Mails in. Sent from Melbourne Australia to Auckland New Zealand (cabby spent two weeks on the dock) then to it's current home of Kingston Norfolk Island.

Cabby awaits unloading from the ship "Norfolk Guardian".

So 24 years and 10 days later, Cabby is on a Island in the Pacific Ocean. Just 8km (5 miles) by 5km (3 miles) in size.

Parked beside a disused lighter (boat)

In the back ground is the wharf shipping was loaded on to.

Local beach. Heading into winter months, so too cold for the locals to go swimming.

Outside the old jail. Note the remains of a stairway cut into the wall on the left side of the photo. This was the stairs to the Gallows. As in a noose was placed around ones neck...

Prison Officers quarters now a chapel.

Bloody bridge built around 1830. So named after blood was found seeping from the mortar. Legend has it prisoners murdered an officer and placed
the body inside the stone work...Note the blue mini Moke in the back ground. As in Chinese made new Mokes.
