Changing out/ removing your Top Latches.

Open or unlatch your top to access the 3 screws.
The screws may be rusted, so you may want to use some PB-Blaster and allow it to work.
If the Screws are rusted then you may also want to use a hammer to the back of the screw driver to shock the screws prior to removal.

Raise the latching handle and remove the 2 countersunk Phillips screws.

Move the headliner back to get to the big Phillips screw

Now is the time to use a tad of never-seize to the screws when you go back.

If the Screws Strip the heads or round out.... As they can be a pain to remove, you can use LEFT-HAND drill bits, and a Reversable drill in Reverse to remove them.... BEWARNED you have to take care to PAD the TOP and HEAD liner as when the screw gets to the breaking point it will Back out of the screw hole as fast as the bit is turning... Use a size of drill bit that is smaller than the screw shank.. You can get them at Harborfreight.com
