First...Hats off to the leaders of this forum and thank you.
I joined TRF because of the North America Cabby GTG post. I would commit 1 possibly 2 Cabbys to the GTG. St. Louis is a great central location glad you did not op for ChiTown. 2009 works but 2010 would be fine. Summer is a must (no heat in the 86).
Again thanks,
Frog

I'm In, the cabby is running great and shaping up to be a ...., I won't call it an investment, but great way to spend my money. Would love to get together with other people as crazy as I.

If we are going to do something here I think we need to start planning.

Let's set up a chat on this subject here on TRF.

I will suggest this Thursday. At 9:00 PM Eastern Time. Is that OK with you folks?

I will post some points that I think will need to be discussed if there is some kind of responce in the next day or so.

I've been working on a list of places that this could be held at:
Six Flags
Grant's Farm
Anheuser-Busch Brewery (free admission, pics with the Clydesdales?? )
Forest Park (think Central Park, but better)
Hurricane Harbor Water Park (if it's held in the summer)
America's Incredible Pizza Co. (go-karting, mini golf, bumper cars, bowling, and pizza)

There may be others... :?: I was thinking of having the GTG at a place where there would be things to do and/or see to make it a little more fun for everyone.

A few people have expressed great interest in camping. I found mostly RV-only parks and a couple of KOA's, but for group camping (and for those not wanting to pitch a tent), I came across this place which sounds pretty neat: Pin Oak Creek RV Park.

Anyway, I can be around for a TRF chat this Thursday.
9pm ET
8pm CT
7pm MT
6pm PT & AZT (Arizona time)

We need to nail down the when and where; once we have those two, we can start working on sponsorship and whatnot.

Arg,

I try to set somthing up and a wrench falls in the works. :x

I just got a call from my brother in Vancouver, He is passing through Thursday.

Since only Kammi and I have responded so far, How about changing it to Monday night Aug 18?

Same time.

That way a few more people will have a chance to respond and maybe come up with a few ideas.

Kamz, I think your ideas so far are on track.

Monday works for me, Phil. I've also made a web page for this ( http://cabby-info.com/noamgtg ), so those out in cyberspace will, hopefully, see all of the updates, including our scheduled chat.

Dubweiser... I like it!! I wonder, if they sponsor this thing, if they could make special Dubweiser beers.

Great Kamz,

I posted links to the page on a couple of VW forums.

BTW the time is 9:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time (10:30 in Newfoundland) Standard time returns in the fall.

has anything been finalized? Update please.
The entire tool selection at Sears or the contents of a Snap-On truck will do you no good if you do not know how to use them.

We had the online meeting. There was a poor turnout, but we did decide that it should take place in the summer of 2010.

Kammy and I are doing a little research and we should have another meeting soon.

If you wish to join in, we suggest that you set up a Yahoo Messenger account. This is how we will probably meet next time.

We would really like a lot more help to get this thing going.

Very excited about this! When you say summer does that mean June/July(please)? Reason why I asked is I would REALLY love to bring my family of ppl and 'verts. This sounds like an awesome GTG but I'll be up to my neck organizing SOWO through May. I'll start watching this closely, really looking forward to hearing the details, the Cabby world needs this kind of event and St.Louis is a fantastic location. Good Luck!
