Looking for a DIY on replacing the heater core

Have you done so much to the car today that it just doesn't fit into one section, or are you too damn lazy to split it all up? Either way, this is the section for you.

Looking for a DIY on replacing the heater core

Post by No Automatics!! »

1990 Cabrio, no air con.
Plan to replace the heater core soon, looking for a lead on a possible DIY (preferably with pics) on how to do this. I realize it's fairly easy on the MK1 chassis, unlike the nightmare that is the work on the mk3 (ask me how I know)

Basically the windows fog up anytime I have the heater on and there's smell of anti freeze inside the car. Driving this past winter was really awful, having to constantly wipe the windows every few minutes. So I ordered a new core ($50) and plan to do this over the next couple of weeks. Headsuppers, tips, diy would be great. Thanks
