How to mend your Windshield Washer jug.

Have you done so much to the car today that it just doesn't fit into one section, or are you too damn lazy to split it all up? Either way, this is the section for you.

How to mend your Windshield Washer jug.

Post by Briano1234 »

Some times I can screw up.... and forget to
put the windshield washer jug back in the holder correctly.

Well on my test drive, ot fell off and against the a/c pully and
got a cut in it.

Trolling through the "yard" I couldn't find a good jug, so I had to repair mine.

Clean the jug with brake clean, be sure that you clean the cut areas.

Now you have to stuff it with something so that your epoxy will not run through.

2 tips Use your old bread to stuff the jug cram it in and be sure that your holes are filled in the back.

or

Use napkins and a long screwdriver to stuff them so that they fill the void.

With the jug stuffed you can mix your fav-o-rite epoxy.... JB-WELD

Mix it completely on a plastic surface so that the resins don't leach out... Paper or cardboard can do that.

Now spread it into the repair, then on the outside, let it sit for 10 minutes.

Remove the napkins with a pair of hemostats, or add water and let the napkins drain out.

For bread add hot water and wait about 3 minutes for the bread to dissolve. (works for soldering water pipes).

Now take the jug, and plug off the washer jet port and blow into the jug, does it leak air? no, your done.
If yes then reapply additional epoxy to completely seal the void.
