Well today I was pondering to send a friend of mine the weighted Billet from Missing Linkz for a present.
I bought one for my 90, along with the short shifter kit, and it rocked.
Since I'm a cheap bastard (cost effective), I have come up with a home Brew version that uses no clamps, and is a easy retro when you do a bushing swap.
Parts:
One and a half Pounds of fender washers. Large Diameter Internal hole.
2 wire ties
Roll of electrical tape.
Take of the shifter link, and slide the washers over the rod one at a time.
Center the mass, and one the edges apply a wire tie to keep them all together.
Cover with electrical tape to water proof.
Enjoy......add the missing linkz short shifter kit and ooooooh baby.

Sounds really good Brian, I'll have to check it out when I get home since work blocks all the images from most image sharing sites.

If you want to be really fancy, you could use some heat shrink tubing instead of electrical tape. The results should look pretty professional, and it comes in a bunch of different colors.

Briano, is this what you had in mind? I haven't seen any one else post anything else on this subject so here's a pic.

I'm going to try the shrink wrap technique that gull suggested. I'll post more pics when done. Great idea Briano! Thanks!

I couldn't find shrink wrap in that size, so I ended up wrapping it with electrical tape. Then finished it with cable wrap. I think it looks pretty good.

Looks good.
With a short shifter the difference is night and day. Not as tight as my MG but significantly more betta.

I installed a short shifter @ 33%. It works great, what a difference it makes. The weighted throw works awesome, thanks Briano. You are correct about the MG mine also shifts pretty tight. I don't know, if you noticed mine parked next to the cabby? It's a 1980 MGB
