The past week in Car repair

Have you done so much to the car today that it just doesn't fit into one section, or are you too damn lazy to split it all up? Either way, this is the section for you.

Try that in my garage, 97 out, I have the door closed and 4 500 watt Quartz lights on......
But there is a semblance of order in my chaos.

Ha, not a chance. I'll stick to my 8ft shop lights that don't add any extra heat thank you. I certainly put a dent in getting the garage cleaned up and in an order that resulted in more usable space. Not bad for just shifting crap. This coming weekend, I can actually go to the dump, so that will hopefully result in even more space.

On another note, the cabby did well yesterday and nothing sprung a leak I'm happy to say. Still, fluids need to be changed and suspension work is a must before Cristine can start driving her around with any regularity.

Excellent Brian. Can't wait to see the finished results. As for the top, sorry we are sticking with Grey, it seems to suit the car so much better than black/white.

Ordered the coilovers yesterday to help with the front suspension & ride height. Next weekend should be very productive for the cabby. New control arms, ball joints, coil-overs & fluids. Who knows, it's might even get an actual bath, lol.

So the coilover's arrived yesterday. Pulled the old front suspension out and get the coilovers in. Adjusted the coils to about halfway threaded up the shock body, put the car on the ground and yea, car was on the ground almost. Just enough wheel gap to get my fingers between the tires and the fender. While it looks awesome, that's a bit too low.

So today after work, I'll start the process of adjusting the coils up some more and try to get it to a good ride height that hopefully still has some dampening and doesn't jar the spine too much. I won't be putting the rear coils on at this time. The rear suspension was always in great shape and sits right where I want it. So I'll wait till for another day down the road to mess with those.

Got the coils adjusted up so the car isn't on the ground anymore. However, I neglected the camber adjustment so now I have to reduce some of the very negative camber I have going on. The good thing is, the coils held up against both mine and cristine's weight on a very short test ride over some bumps. No more rubbing!! We'll see if that continues after the camber adjustment, though I suspect it should.
