Windnoise with the top up getting to you too?

Have you done so much to the car today that it just doesn't fit into one section, or are you too damn lazy to split it all up? Either way, this is the section for you.

Windnoise with the top up getting to you too?

Post by Briano1234 »

Have you ever had that top up and there is wind noise coming at you from where the window meets the B-Pillar, or rain spits back at you from the gap that you can see between the B-Pillar and the window?

Even with the Stereo up, you still hear that noise, is it hard to carry on a conversation?

You have adjusted the window, shimmed the door you have gotten it close but there are still flat spots in the
weatherstrip that just won't mate to the window? What am I to do?

Well Wait Try Bronco's new and improved rehabilitation for compressed weather strip. One application is all you need.

Image

First find out where the weatherstrip is not mating to the door, the top up and window up and a flashlight will show you.

Using a rag soaked in Alcohol run it carefully up the inside of the "V" starting at the bottom BE GENTLE...

Image

Do it until the rag dosen't pick up that really black ugly stuff on it.

Allow to dry

Then unroll a portion of the closed cell foam and cut to lenght.

Image

Pull the adheasive backing off and apply it between the "V" and wedge it as close as you can get to the inner "V" meet.

Push it in.

Then with the door closed and the window up trim off any that sticks out with a razor knife. Cut only the foam... so be really really REALLY carefull.

When you are done, you will have no further wind noise and it is almost invisible.... Repeat as needed for the other door.
What more can you ask for in a fix.....
