OK I've Been Busy

Post by CalAltaDubber »

Sorry, I've had a busy summer. First I took a trip to British Columbia to do a little wine tasting. Naturally I had a good time and yes, I came home with a couple of cases of some mighty fine wine.

Then I decided it was time to change up my fleet of VWs. I bought the Jetta 11 years ago. It had 18,000 km when I bought it, now it had 216,000 km so it has served me well. But I felt it was time to move on.

So I went out and bought a new car (more on that in a min.). Both the dealer and I thought it would be better for me to sell the car rather than trading it in. Well I was cleaning it out when the lady next door came up and asked if I was selling it. Her daughter's boyfriend needed a new car and my Jetta was the right solution for him. I didn't even get to post it on Craig's List. It just sold!

Here's the Jetta.

Now to the new car.
I went all out and bought a 2012 Golf Wagon (In the US it is sold as the Jetta Sportwagen). It's equipped with a 2.0l TDI (Clean Diesel). These things do not smell like a diesel, sound like a diesel and run like a gas engine. Best of all they are much more fuel efficent than the similar gas engine model.

Still doesn't come close to the Cabbys, but it sure is nice to drive.

Here's the Golf Wagon

Very nice Phil. Cristine and I have thought about getting a TDI several times over the years. Problem is, every time we seriously get the trigger finger, there are none to be had. Currently we are happy with the fleet though and I'd bet you are pretty happy with yours.

Oh, and you can't beat the quick sale on the jetta.

Thanks folks. I'm really liking the TDI, but when the weather is good, I'm to be found in one of the Bunnies.
