Mice's dutch topless rabbit

Post by Mice »

Hi! CalAltaDubber joined the dutch forum, so I thought it was appropiate to join here

I'm Martijn, better known as Mice.
I'm (almost) 29 jears old and i'm the lucky owner of two VW's
My wife's daily, a VW polo.
And ofcourse my daily, the Cab

It's a 1988, 1.8 JH cab in LD6U darkgreen metallic.
It has power steering and a clipper bumperkit (stock)

When I got it in 2006 it looked like this:

Nice base to start with but screeming for modifications

So first i bought a recaro sportline interiour:

I replaced al the crappy dashlights with bright led's

There was some major engine work:
Spare parts: (new headgasket, clutch, seals etc.)

Ready  :D

Then i bought a old single headlight grille with chrome trim an a set of porsche C2 wheels.
The wheels are fitted with 195/40R16 dunlops 9000 tires and H&R adaptorplates.

For the dutch car inspection he failed because of leaking rear shocks
So that was a perfect chance for al coil over set

Only a mouse could walk here

Then suddenly there was a big black man in my cabby  8)
Image
I fitted a pioneer 6 dvd changer to my headunit

Because i was getting married, my wife wanted some style instead of sportseats.
I had a leather interior for a while and decided to renovate and fit it to the car.
Bye bye recaros

Out with the black upholstery

In with the beige

Nice! :-D 8)

Next the audio is getting a update.
Now there's a square kicker woofer in the trunk with a Signat amp.
The final system is going to contain only Next AudioEmotion stuff

Thats it for now

Very nice looking cab (all 3 variations looked great). Welcome to TRF. Seems like all of the Euro Cabbs joining up have the same windscreen and it is starting to make me really want one. Once again welcome and nice Cabby.

@bbrown
The screen only is about € 175,- , that is about $225??
Shipping will be expensive to. So if you are comming to the EU, bring a long thin suitcase
Checking the prices I was really glad mine came with the car 8)

Thanks for the info guys. Looks like I will have to wait on the windscreen. I have seen them on ebay.co.uk and they go for about 160 EUR which is like almost $210 US, but the shipping was a flat rate 35 EUR or $46 US. I have seen other variations for sale on the US ebay, but they are not the same type or quality of the ones on the UK ebay or the ones that you guys have that came with your cars. I guess I will have to keep looking or take your advice and make a trip over to Europe with nice big suitcase .

I ordered one from Germany last year.

Heer is the url http://www.cabrio-windstop.windesa.com/ ... ocker.html

Absolutly the best and I highly recommend this one.

It cost me 204 Euros, plus duty. It came in record time. I forget what it all converted to in Canadian $.

But it is worth every penny.

Here is the link about my purchasing it.

Yeah I remember reading your article about purchasing the windscreen. Thanks for the link. I bookmarked it because I first need to get a boot cover before I think about a windscreen. These plans might have to wait as the vortex doesn't have a black boot cover listed, ebay has not yielded any results, and Cabrio-World wants almost $500 :screwy: for a new boot cover. Looks like I will have to wait till I am out of school and back to work before I get either.

Just looked on M&T Mfg.'s website and they have the boot covers brand new for $205 shipped. Not too bad as most I have seen on ebay go for around $100+ and that is used. If I get a boot I will have to buy one of Kammy's boot bags too.
