I'm still Alive

Post by Calimus »

Just incase you thought or heard otherwise, I am infact still among the living.

Since March untill recently, I've been living more at work then I have at home. For any thinking of doing this, I highly reccomend that you don't do this. Seems to put spouse/signifigant other in very bad moods, leads to getting nothing done around the home and pretty much wrecks any change of having a life. All of the equals bad.

So, now that things are calming back down, I have a chance to swing into here for more then just a "ok, everything is still working" check. Not much going on with me right now. Trying to gather some parts back up to finish the rocco.

How is everyone else doing? No way I can read all the post, but I'll try.

LOL @ both of you.

Brian, yea, while the purchase of both bear sterns and now Wamu don't have much impact at our site, we have been very busy with many other things. However, I can say that we still have to know a lot of whats going on as we have many conf calls and those topics come up a lot from a IT standpoint.

The main thing thats been keeping my head below water as been a total re-wire of our network, moving from workstations to a thin client environment and switching to all new applications. All of this started in March and is just winding down now. Still have a few bumps to get over, but I can finally breath again.

How are things at HP going BTW? Back in April I know you still had a lot of concerns.

Oh, and no ghost-posting Kammy, it's really me.....I think. :P

Oh, the stories I have to tell, but lets say I survived 2 more cuts, but now have to go "back" into the office to work.....which is BS, but that is another story.

Well, at least the drive isn't too bad from what I remember you telling me. An I'm sure in most cases, it's better then not having a job in this economy.

We'll have to catch up so you can tell me the details. Maybe over a beer?
