My 88 Cabriolet

Post by cbx4evr »

Greetings. New here. Posting a pict of my 88 Cabriolet. It's a work in progress and looking for advice on what to do next. Thinking of lowering and maybe exhaust.

Suppose that depends on your definition of special.

I'm more interested in driving than wrenching on a perfectly good car. My son has his own ideas but he doesn't have any money to carry them out. My interest in more in bikes right now.

BTW I brought this car up from Calgary where I purchased it from the original owner.

If you can't beat them, drop the top and pimp by 'em!

You betcha!! The CBX is really my thing. My son is the VW guy although I'm having fun with that too.

CB1100f. Another bike I'd like to add to the stable but they are hard to find around here. I've got an 80 and an 81 CBX. I've got the gold boomerang comstars on my 80. On the 1100f site at all?

Yes, I post under the same name on cb1100f.net, very good site. I'm kind of toying with the idea of selling the bike. My wife has given her blessing on a 944, so I think I'm going to liquidate all I can and go for it. I would rather a 911 but I jusy can't swing it right now.

Hmmmm. How do I get that bike into Canada???

On the wife thing: Easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. Keep the bike and get the 944 anyway!!!

May see you at 1100f.net. I also post under same ID but don't post there too much as I don't have one. I'm more active at CBX World.

Here's a pic of my Cabby from this past summer. Was on the return trip from the Great Canadian Show in Vancouver. Car performed very well. Installed a set of HR lowering springs before the trip. Love the feel of it now.

I know what you mean about driving as opposed to wrenching.

I have an '87 that I bought brand new. To me I just want to keep the car in an OEM condition.

However, I want to find anothr and dress it up a bunch. While I'm at it I will probably do something for a little more power too.

Wow 5 1/2 years since I've been here. Site got blocked at work because of the "topless" in the URL.

So not too much has changed. Still have the VW but have toyed with the idea of selling it. You just never get what you got in. I love the car but just don't have the time for it as I used to.

Here's a few picks from last year.

The car looks great.

It would be nice to meet up with you at Fahrfromhome on May 29th.

Are you planning to attend?
