New wheels for kuklaki!!!

Now that you have modded the hell outta your ride, you have to find a way to get your car to stick to the ground. Talk about the different types of tires used here.

New wheels for kuklaki!!!

Post by kuklaki »

I was very surprised when Calimus' friend stopped by today with these for sale, and even more surprised when my hubby asked me if I wanted them, if so I could get them.
Though I will have to be a slave for the next couple months, these are definately worth the trips to the store and hot dinners I will have to cook :P

Thankies! They are Compomotive (?) 15" I've not heard of those before but I'm not familiar with a lot of rims, either.
They dont go on until the new suspension is done, though. That wont be until winter. Which is fine by me since it will all be complete by the time show season starts :D

Compomotive makes a good product, not top of the line but definately quality. I love the 5 spoke look! Congrats on the find. What have you got planned for suspension mods?

That is good to know. I did a little searching on the web last night but couldnt find references to their quality so I'm glad someone else knows about them.
As far as the suspension goes, Calimus is taking care of that detail for me. I want a little bit of a drop, but not slammed, and a nice ride. I think he was planning on H&R sport spings + Boge struts/shocks, but that may have changed. No plans are set until the car is off the road in the winter anyways, so we still have time to think about it.
Any suggestions?

If you don't care about drop, I would go with the Shine Racing springs I just put in my Cabby. Very sweet. They race what they sell and that says alot. http://www.srsvw.com $229.00 for all four, powder coated blue and the staff at the shop are nice to talk to.

Long polital thing, they are proposing a new plant just a few miles from here. It was supposed to be a small one level thing, with minimal disruption. They got the city to pay for everything-the land, no lease payments for a year, no taxes, etc as part of their contract. Once the contract was sealed they unleashed their HUGE plant plans-nothing at all like they were supposed to build. And they are now wanting to block off the highway with new train tracks-not to mention they want taxpayers to pay for it-which will cut off emergency vehicle access to residents.
Lessee, they are building this plant so they can close the one they currently have in KY, which is union, and pays an average wage of $22/hour. All so they can bless our residents with a job that pays max $12/hour.
Also as a final insult, they refused to accept contracts from local construction firms and instead hired 3 Japanese companies to build their plant. So basicly they want to suck the community and the taxpayers dry but are not willing to contribute anything back to the community, including a fair wage.

Hmmm I would say dont get me started but it looks like I already did

ok, i agree...toyo is the devil. from this point on i will never buy toyo products again.

it's the same thing kelloggs is doing to me. closing a union plant to go non-union just to save a few $$$. these big companys don't care about the little guy, all they care about is the almighty dollar. they will do anything to get a few more dollars in there pocket. bastards!!!!!!

DON'T BUY KELLOGGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BAN KELLOGGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok, not knowing exactly what model those rims were was really bugging me. I could not find any reference to that particular style-the closest thing I found was the Compomotive TS, which is identical except that TS are modular.
I e-mailed Compomotive and got this reply:
Hi,

This wheel is called the FH model. It was deleted around 1990....

The cover plates are still available , but that's about it & only in silver colour.
Just don't damage one as I cannot help you in finding a new one..

Barry
So basically these have been sitting around in someone's warehouse for 14+ years. Damn right I'll be careful!
