Adding a switch

Post by Briano1234 » Tue Oct 02, 2007 6:01 pm

I broke down today and moved the a/c compressor switch from the heater control assembly to below the 4-way. I don't know why I didn't do this sooner, it was a piece of cake.

Take one of the blanks out for the switch and cut it so that a switch would fit it and look semi original when re-installed.

Take the 2 wires off the compressor switch on the right side of the heater control assemble and connect them to the switch.

I now can have a/c on in any position of the slider, or better choose not to have it on, as in running the defroster..... :)

Brian, are you refering to the micro switch that screwed onto the temp selector frame? If so, I've thought about the same thing, but then I never used the AC in the first place so I never kept it in mind.

I hadn't thought about putting the new switch in the position you did though, thats a good idea.
