Synthetic Oil Comparison... a REAL one...

Post by PDX Cabby »

a site worth watching for a couple years
http://neptune.spacebears.com/cars/stor ... -life.html

the low down
-guy picks up a new camaro
-desides to study Synthetic oils: Mobile1, Amsoil, Redline, and others
-guy fills oil, pulls a sample every 1k miles and does not change it till the oil is no longer good, and then begins with a new synth and study.

so far, only Mobile1 has been completed. travelled 17,000 miles before draining. Changed the oil filter at 12,000 miles.
so
for most
thats 1 oil change a year

they're expecting the Amsoil 2k mile lab results any time now. I just wish he had gone to RedLine after the Mobile1
