Following my last's year's mods (camshaft/gear/airbox) I think it needs to be complemented with this:

Yeah...I think is the easier cheaper to go in the first step...I already have a 270* camshaft and an adjustable cam gear...plus the mk2 TB, and deleted CAT, I think they will team up well. I will be happy when I hit 130 whp in my 8v, but I think that's gonna be impossible....

you have the JH motor in it? ever thought about raising the compression?
the JH only has 8.5:1 C/R, great for boost, not so great for NA.

before i was going to turbo mine i was going to build it all motor with a wild cam and bump the C/R up, i've heard you can get nice gains by doing that.

You can,...... I like mine. May not be a turbo, but it sounds a helluva lot meaner at idle and it's a hoot to drive.
I just know shit..........

speedtek, how much did you mill off the head to get it in the 10:1 C/R?

unfortunately, I don't know the answer to that. The engine was built and installed before I bought the car. The figures I quote are only what I was told when I spoke to the guy who built the engine (Porsche Mechanic in Victoria, BC). I do know the head was shaved and I'm pretty sure he said the ratio was around 10:1. I would imagine it was shaved as much as safely possible, as the engine was built with quite a lot of attention to maximizing output for the given package. You also have to consider the fact that it is bored and stroked, which with the different rod/crank/piston combo will undoubtedly affect the C/R as well.

true, he could have got that C/R with just a piston change.
hows that 2.1 run? pretty quick?

It's nasty quick, but it probably feels faster than it actually is. I'll have some solid numbers this spring when I break out the G-Tech 8)
