The Forums has been upgraded....Finally

Post by Calimus »

Firstly, the rumors of my demise are greatly exaggerated! Now the rumors that I have no life and my job is sucking the life out of me as if it were an industrial hoover, however, are laser accurate.

So I've just been switched to 3rd shift (8pm-5am) which sucks even more for my home life (I've been on a 2pm-11pm shift since November last year), this shift does appear to afford me a bit of downtime on some nights. So this being the second night of not much to do, I said, hey, I haven't upgraded the forum software in a while, why don't I do that. Seem "a while" is 2 years. So, yea, I suck, sorry.

Anyway, it's now been upgraded and thats about all I have for right now.

Pot calling the Kettle Black as I did that for YEARS on end and it Hoover's very much Greatly.

I still know folks that are on windows Millenium, why because their puter won't run anything else, and why upgrade.

The absent landlord has returned to upgrade the forums again...finally. Thanks to the corona virus, I finally had time to come back and work on the ancient version of the forums and bring it up to current. Maybe I'll also find some time to fix the logo as well.

naw the logo is fine, thank you for your attention to detail. While I must say it seems to index faster on a search...

Everything should run a lot faster. New version has a restructure of the database not to mention on the hosting backend, improvements have been made to the DB servers as well as the version of php the site is running on. All combined, should give a nice speed boost to things.
