Re: Buying site unseen

Kevin, like anything else, it's buyer beware! There are still lots of these cars all over. If you do buy off eBay, I suggest contacting the seller BEFORE you even consider making a bid. Find out about the car. Get the VIN and do a CarFax or Car Proof report. I bought my second cabby through listings...

Re: Rear Bumper Interchageability

Yes any MK I bumper will work. If you head to your local auto wrecker, just remove the four M8 bolts that secure the bumper assembly from inside the trunk. And to save hassle keep the bolts that you removed from one at the auto wrecker.

Re: Low Oil Pressure

Blinky light at idle, half bar on gauge. Only 1 bar at 2500 RPM, occasional buzzer. Seems to be common problem on other forums, not on here. Car runs good, coolant temp in middle of range. Don't want to replace oil pump. Oil pressure should be 2 Bar at 2000 RPM when the oil is 80 Degrees C (29 PSI ...

Re: Is it worth it? Damaged in accident.

I have to agree with Brian here. I'd really need to see the damage before making a comment. But I was looking on Kijiji, and there are some fairly good looking Cabbys for $2,000 or so. You could pick up one of them, and use all the good parts on it. Then haul the dead one to the local wrecker. Just ...

Re: Brake lights not working

Since the break lights are all inoperative, (I'll assume that you did check the bulbs), it is best to start with something that's common in the system. I'd start with the brake light switch located under the dash. It is a small black plunger that the brake pedal pushes in when you put your foot on t...

Re: oil pan - gasket??

OK there are two parts to the oil filter housing. The oil filter housing itself and the oil cooler, the squarish housing where the oil filter attaches, that has two hoses connected. Provided that your engine is in OEM configuration, it sounds like the gasket for the oil cooler is screwed. This would...

Re: newbie

I know where you are coming from. I couldn't bring my self to make any changes to my '87, so I bought the '88 and did a custom job on. Have a look at the picture introductions thread http://www.toplessrabbit.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=2818 ). You can see both of my cars. Another shameless ...

Maybe a little bit. I figure I had enough winter for this year, so right now I'm in the Caribbean. Back to the "Great White North" on the week end.

Re: newbie

Hello and greetings from frigid Michigan USA. After determining that I had too many kids to keep driving my street bike an any first world country I picked up an 89 Cabriolet 2 summers ago; a 5 spd with roughly 65,000 miles on it. Its been a treat. Josh Hey Josh, Welcome to TRF. Hop to hear lots fr...
