Re: Forum Upgrade

Oh, just to follow up on this, the initial test didn't go as expected. I've since made some other adjustments and the last test worked out really well. So, I'm going to do a few more dry runs and then if all goes well, the upgrade will happen. Hopefully sometime this week. Keep your eye's peeled for...

Changes to the TRF Fleet

So after slapping 60k miles on the TDI in less than 2 years, some signs of very expensive maintenance started showing up. I started bracing myself for it, then Mrs. TRF Admin found something that appealed to my inner child. So, this is now in the driveway. http://www.techography.com/gallery/d/750108...

Re: ticket for driving while distracted.. no texting, no pho

I saw that, haven't had a chance to follow up on it. Has this been tossed out or has there been anything on it actually going to court?

Re: Forum Upgrade

I'm going to try and test the upgrade process tonight. I've backed up TRF and have re-created it in a test environment so that if something screws up, it doesn't cause a real outage. This will help me to better judge how it's going to go. The upgrade when done, should make things a bit nicer. A big ...

Forum Upgrade

It's that time folks. It's been a while, but it's finally time to upgrade the forum software. This one may take me a bit to do though as this isn't a normal quick update. This jumps to a whole new version, conversion of the database and I'm sure some bugs that I will have caused over the years of cu...

Re: VR6 cabby

This will be an awesome, but challenging project. I've not done it, but I know it's not super easy to cram that Vr in the bunny. Though most seem to put the early VR in there, I'm a big fan of the 2nd Gen VR. Do yourself a favor though. While the VR is out, seperate the trans and replace the timing ...

Re: The past week in Car repair

Brian, I really, really hate to hear that. As retirement is better than the alternative, I hope that is what comes your way. I know none of it is great news, but maybe you can at least get a glass or two of lemon-aide instead of just some lemons. As always, let me know if there is anything I can do....

Re: The past week in Car repair

Man, I feel terrible. I don't care to admit how long it's been since I've done anything to either the bunny or the rocco. I was thinking I would finally get some time to tinker with them this fall/winter, but we will have to see. Things at the job might be changing which means even less time for me ...

Re: Some Change at TRF-HQ

Yea, we hated letting go of the beetle. But now with 2 TDI's we don't worry about making any trips. Now we just have to get some time to work on the cabby. My supervisor should be back from a medical issue that started at the beginning of April which I hope means some weight off my shoulders.
