Mentioned that to someone once and they for whatever reason though the car running was fine for doing that. I ca...

Re: Stuck in Reverse
All of the shifter linkages seem free. I do need to go under it and just unhook it from the transmission to make sure. But I feel it is in the transmission. I did find one thing though. The rubber bushing that goes on the long shift rod right before all of the linkages it gone, it is just rotten and...

Re: 1984 Rebuild
So yesterday I replaced the vacuum lines. Started the rabbit and it ran great! Best it has ran yet. So I thought lets drive it down the road. I get it to the end of the drive way and it starts spitting and sputtering! Great out of gas (the gas gauge does not work). So I put some gas in it and it doe...

Re: Stuck in Reverse
Ok, I put it in reverse to back it up a little but when I went to put it in first gear it would not come out of reverse. The shifter springs up and down but will not move it out of reverse and the shifter will not move as much as it should. I am hoping it is the linkage and will mess around with it ...

Re: 1984 Rebuild
So after 12 years the Rabbit finally moved under its own power. Did not go far, did not go fast but it moved. I drove it to the end of our street and turned around, it does not run good at all over 1500 rpm and I will work on that next. And no brakes, but that is because there is no brake fluid in i...

Re: LED Tail Lights
Yes, I am going to take it apart and see what is up with it. I agree that LED's in themselves are cheap. I have strips of about 10 that are for auto or marine or camping use. They work great with a small 9 volt battery or a car 12 volt battery and the best part was they were 50 cents each including ...

Re: LED Tail Lights
Here are the pictures. After removing all of the screws the assembly does not come apart. The red lens is glued to the white housing and when you try to separate them it cracks the red lens. You can see the back side of the circuit board in one of the pictures
