Re: New Guy from Canada

Another person from The Great White North. Actually the rainy coast.

Welcome to TRF.

Too bad we are only meeting you now. You could have made a pit stop here in Calgary on your tour east. Next time :D .

Love your car. Looks great!

Re: Newbie with oil pressure issue

Yeah, despite only having 47K miles on it and looking new.......I'm starting to rethink that maybe I should have bought my daughter something else. Sigh! Don't worry, the only issue here is the car is 21 years old. Like all mechanical things, it will break down. How severe the breakdown will be is ...

Re: Newbie with oil pressure issue

I'm surprised Brian hasn't jumped in here yet. The oil pressure test for these cars is with the engine oil temp. of 100 Deg. C, and running at 2,000 RPM, the oil pressure should be 2 Bar or greater. I have an '88 witth a newly rebuilt engine, and the oil light does flash when it is warm. As for oil,...

Re: strut problem?

I had a spring break a few years ago. It was near the bottom of the spring, and really just made a clunking noise. It was driving me crazy until I found the broken spring. So your probably right to replace the struts. Are you changing the springs too? If you are planning to lower the car in the futu...

A Very Nice '81

While I was working on the Topless Bunny on Sunday, a very nice couple stopped in front of my driveway to have a look.

After chatting with them for about an hour they left, only to return with their '81.

A very beautiful car, I might add.

Too bad I didn't take a picture.

Re: The past week in Car repair

Yesterday, while I was driving Topless Bunny the Alternator light came on and the volt meter dropped. I was a little perplexed because I had changed the voltage regulator last summer. So I got the car home and pulled the alternator out and removed the voltage regulator. Well the regulator was fine, ...

Very Sad News

It is with great sadness that I have to report one of our members, LorneM has lost his fight with Cancer. Lorne and I became good friends since meeting here on Topless Rabbit. He was a great help to me when I was working on my last auto project. Upon being diagnosed with terminal Cancer, Lorne conti...

I totally understand. That's one of the reasons my Posh Bunny project took five years.

Re: Buying site unseen

Hey Kevin, I'm glaad we didn't scare you away. With cars this old, it is important to ccheck them over before handing over your hard earned cash. That's why it mostt of us really discourage sight unseen purchases. As far as engines go. the 1.8 l engines these came with are just short of bullit proof...

Antenna Issues

This actually happened a while ago, but I finally get around to posting it. I had my MK IV golf at the car wash getting all the crap from the winter off it. While I hit the antenna with the soap brush and the housing cover fell off. Honest I only touched it. Well as you can see in the picture there ...
