Re: Stinky Bunny v.1.6d

Got the accelerator cable attached, WHAT a treat that was, lol. I have a bit of advice here, DO NOT look for the rubber bushing in junkyards or through VW. You ain't gonna find them in either place. :rmad: I did a fix for this, I'll do some pics at some point and time. All I have left to do is hook ...

Re: Stinky Bunny v.1.6d

OK, got some of the exhaust done before my back seized up on me yet again. Charlie seems better. Hopefully tomorrow we'll have the wiring done and test start her.

Re: Stinky Bunny v.1.6d

Grrrr, still storming up here in HELL. Charlie's doing a lot better today. Tomorrow's supposed to be really nice so I should get a lot done. All that's left is to fit up the exhaust, weld it and the wiring. Then to futz around with that damn shift linkage some. Rabid Irish from the tex will be out h...

Re: Stinky Bunny v.1.6d

Not much today, Charlie our Boxer has some sort of neurological issue and is having a time with steps. It's storming like mad outside as well. 3 steps forward and 2 back, grrrr. :rmad:

Re: Briano's Status.

It all comes down to YOU being your best advocate. I'm a newish RN, 21 months and I see it all the time. 5 years ago I was having dizzy spells to the point of not being able to walk on my own. I went for 5 MRI, MRA and CT scan and they showed zip. I kept pushing and never did figure out what was cau...

Re: Stinky Bunny v.1.6d

Nick gave a good way to install that bearing.... Spit it in half lengthwise. Slip it over the rod and then in the bearing cup. No adjustments are broken/ I liked it well enough to do my 90 that way and even tho I only had it about 6 months after that BW It never caused me any grief. You have to rea...

Re: Stinky Bunny v.1.6d

I'll have to shoot a pic, I think I have the bearing at the end of the long rod in backwards. I don't have anything here to look at so I'm screwed.

Re: Stinky Bunny v.1.6d

OK, we're wired for water and fuel. If anyone knows where a good photo of the shift linkage for a Cabriolet, I'd appreciate the hell out of the link or posting it up in here. I'm trying to cobble that together, then the exhaust. Still on schedule for a run this weekend, M and I are stoked to say the...

Re: Stinky Bunny v.1.6d

Got a few more things done, coolant tank, purged the fuel cell a little more and put the heater hoses on. On top of the crap weather I'm having friggin' back spasms which are a REAL treat to deal with. :rmad: Tomorrow will be the exhaust.

Re: Stinky Bunny v.1.6d

Bunny should run next weekend. We're dropping the NA diesel in her because I have a feeling the head gasket's toast in the Eco motor. So we're going to rebuild the Eco with new bits and a hybrid turbo and drop it in the fall. Rabid Irish from the tex is coming over next weekend to help with it. Any ...

OK, time for an update:
Working on stripping out the Eco, should have the motor out this week sometime if the weather holds, but it doesn't look too good. :(

Re: Stinky Bunny v.1.6d

It just seems that there are more imbeciles working on VW/ Audis than other makes. If you can't do it right, 1/2 ass it and it'll be fine. OK, on to Stinky. Here's the plan, as soon as the weather warms up, it'll be a go for launch. I've been pecking away at the little things when we get weather tha...

Re: Stinky Bunny v.1.6d

Everything is still on hold with the crappy weather. I did get the TD running on the trailer the other day. Some people SHOULD NOT be allowed to touch a wrench. I shit you not, the guy I got the Eco from is an ASE certified mechanic and couldn't see that the fuel drained back because the seals are s...
