As I've mentioned, I want to keep the c...

I agree with Calimus. The proper readings on the Oil Pressure gauge should be around 5 Bar when the car is cold. as the car warms up the rading will drop, and according to my owners manual should not be less than 2 Bar with the engine running at 1000 RPM. (I will confirm that tonight). Well I said ...

Well I can't say too much from your pictures, but most people that I know that have done the 16V swap have opted for the CIS-E fuel injection. CIS-E was developed for 16 Valve engines, and looks something lke the one in the lower picture. The main advantage is that parts are still redily available. ...

I woldn't go as far as to call the Cabriolet a Frankenstein. I think it is important to point out that the Cabriolet was designed and built by Karmann for Volkswagen. The design is based on the MK I Golf. To stiffen the frame (because of the absents of a roof) three steel supports have bee added to ...

I can't believe you forgot a car in that listing. Actually, it's the one car that kinds screws with the whole MK naming convention. Not to mention I own one, heh. The Scirocco. The first rendition of the Scirocco from 74'-81' was built on the A1 chasis and is called the MK1 Scirocco However,...

Yes the terms MK I and A1 mean the same thing and are often interchanged. They are the designation for which generation water cooled VWs are. Cabriolets are a MK I (or A1) while the newer Cabrio is a MK III (or A3) The New Beetle is a MK IV (A4) Some models like the Jetta run through out the whole r...

Funny that you mentioned that, I was pondering a lil on the previous emblem posts and looking through some VW Cabrio pics on some site that I found on a Cabriolet webring, I stubled across this pic: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v498/YouthPastorJB/cabriolet2s.jpg Jim I guess that I am not suffe...
