Re: The past week in Car repair

Thats not too bad Brian. I haven't been able to do much the last month or so. Been real busy, Cristine has had 2 business trips and then we had to go to Florida for her mothers wedding (not even going to get into that mess) this past weekend. I start the cabby every week just to keep things well lub...

Re: The past week in Car repair

Oddly enough, there are many there that speak English and if she wants, she can pick up a part time job teaching it. Besides Mandarin, English is the second most universal language spoken there. We are hoping she misses being back home though and this could also tip the scales in her not coming back...

Re: The past week in Car repair

Finally had some time to get the coils adjusted up on the cabby. Went on a mini vacation this past weekend to Tybee Island and then the rest of this week was spent at work and with our daughter who came down for a quick visit before she moves to Taipei for the next year. Yesterday was a recovery day...

Ok, wait, I know it's been a while, but I thought you weren't supposed to be smoking & drinking anymore? Oh and good work on pulling that nut outta the head, that could have been a real fun time.

Re: The past week in Car repair

DOA shocks? Sadly, I've been there, done that before. From AZ no less as well. Hence why I'm going with coilovers this time to see how it goes. Now if I can just get some damn time to finish setting them up. Boss man just took a massive project away form my co-working and put it on me because the jo...

Re: Love those new parts. Love that free shipping.

Damn, just damn. I actually tried putting one of those on crabby back in the day. I found that if there's a slight warp in the VC at all, it will leak like a mofo. So I went back to the cork and haven't looked back. Not all that modern is better. At least it wasn't for me. Oh yea, and Ebay's new no ...

Re: The past week in Car repair

Awesome. Not having to worry about emissions here, don't even think about these cars having a cat. I could eliminate that at any point and just never though about it. On a side note, been working me ass off the last few weeks. Lots of actual work related projects and then tons of stuff around the ho...

Good means you haven't lost a step, which will come in handy. Getting closer to top time I hope. Next few weeks are going to be very busy. Have new roof going on the house tomorrow, Get passed 1 year anniversary of my fathers passing the day after that, finish getting the coils adjusted and alignmen...

Re: Won a Trophy.

Awesome Pic sir. I didn't hear the honking but man you should have called, I think I was at the Cracker Barrel right next to 75 at that time. Been too damn hot in the afternoons for me to screw with the cabby after work. Going to try this weekend. Will adjust the coils a bit higher and replace the l...

Re: The past week in Car repair

Got the coils adjusted up so the car isn't on the ground anymore. However, I neglected the camber adjustment so now I have to reduce some of the very negative camber I have going on. The good thing is, the coils held up against both mine and cristine's weight on a very short test ride over some bump...

Re: The past week in Car repair

So the coilover's arrived yesterday. Pulled the old front suspension out and get the coilovers in. Adjusted the coils to about halfway threaded up the shock body, put the car on the ground and yea, car was on the ground almost. Just enough wheel gap to get my fingers between the tires and the fender...

Phil, it's good to see you still hanging around. Yea, certainly doesn't seem like it's been that long does it? I looked at the historical data for the forums and this is what it tells me. Board started: Thu Aug 29, 2002 4:11 pm Though back then it wasn't toplessrabbit exactly. It was a little over a...
