Re: Question on Windshield Wipers.
Not sure on those blades, they are kind of like the RainX Latitude blades. Some of the family has them and I think they are okay. I was always a fan of the Plane-Jane Michelin wiper blades and run them faithfully on my Ranger, but I haven't found them in the right size for the Cabby... RainX rain re...

I am so glad you didn't have a heart attack or a stroke. This kind of thing runs in my family so it hits kind of close to home. I am glad that things have been caught before it was too late and that you are home recovering. Get well soon and follow the doctor's orders. Remember that no one knows you...

Re: One Last Drive
Thanks guys. I'll have to check on the discounts... Yeah, OH isn't overly impressing me too much. I happen to live in one of the most liberal cities in the state (a big change from Texas), but there are plenty of things to do here. I just hope the weather picks up here because it has been col...

Nice looking Cabby and welcome to the forum. I like the new wheels much better than the earlier ones on it. I would love to visit Scotland someday.

Maybe the umbrellas were donated by good citizens walking by that didn't want the poor Cabby to get wet in the rain and didn't know how to work the top?

Re: passant commercial
Yeah, I've seen the semi-official photos in The Car Lounge. I don't like it. It looks like VW is trying too hard to modernize a "classic" to keep it around, when, in fact, they should've stuck with their original plan of just killing it off. Bring the Scirocco, Polo, etc. over here instea...

The Beetle ad is pretty good too... although, I thought VW was killing off the NB. This is a test mule with old NB front and rear clips to hide some of the new body lines, but the main lines are there: http://www.cargurus.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/2012-Beetle-no-mark.jpg http://www...

I thought it was one of the best of the super bowl. Clean, cute, and classic. Way to go VW.

Re: Please HELP!!! New Starter and Car still won't Start?!?!
What about trying to pop start the car? Its a manual right? Grab a friend to give you a push (preferably down a driveway that has slight decline to it) while you sit in the car in 1st gear with the clutch in and the key to turned to the run position. Once your momentum is built up dump the clutch (m...

Looks like its in really good condition. There was a guy in my high school that had one of these and it was really quick, but it was suffering from cancer pretty bad as most cars that have seen salted roads for many years do.

Prepping the danger Ranger to come back home to Maine. I flushed the radiator and filled with new coolant, changed the oil and filter, ditched the warm weather windshield washer fluid for some subzero grade stuff, installed new wipers, cleaned the intake manifold, cleaned and charged the K&N air...

Nice write up, but Holly Freaking Crap! That is one expensive hose. Sorry to hear about the camera, but now you can rationalize an upgrade.Briano1234 wrote: I made a work around, but ordered one off of EBAY as the new hose from 1stVwparts.com was about 300.00 with shipping.
