well the deed is done so far so good. I'm still having trouble with idle after start. Starts right off idles rough & tries to stall if press the gas pedal. Once we get to moving she does ok pending I don't get the fuel pump symptoms back. So far I've replaced the plugs, both fuel pumps, all Vacu...

Well guess what I was out driving today and the whine returned along with a few hiccups & stalls. made me really nervous as I was about 40 miles from home but we made it. went to searching for a main pump locally and found one at a Zone a couple of towns away plan on installing it in the morning...

the voltage stabiliser did the trick thanx
and for anyone interested you can get these from Mouser for .31 cents
stock # 512-LM7810CT you have to break the lil plastic tabs that hold them in place & rely on the screw as these are just a bit wider

o2 sensor for the cabby is 120-150

o2 sesnsor for a 1989 Mustang 5.0 is 40.00 and works fine.

You have but to splice the wires off of it to your connector.

Bosch 13913 or 19342 will work.
How do you know which wires to splice together?

I replaced the in tank pump & so far so good. she still don't want to idle when first started any ideas what to check first?

Well I did some work on my new ride today. been having idling issues so after digging around on here & in the Bentley manual I replaced all the old rotten vac. lines & pulled the idle bypass screw out and found the O-ring almost turned to dust replaced that. she seemed to be doing great so s...

top goes down uneven

I noticed today when I put the top down the driver side takes a little effort to get the hold down to catch & once caught is held down snuggly while the passenger side catches w/out any extra effort & sits up from the body a couple of inches higher. any ideas??

ok so I cant find anything within 200 miles from me!! is there somewhere to buy this "voltage stabilizer" ? I really hate not being able to monitor temp & fuel!!

fuel & water temp gauges

just bought an 87 cabby trying to iron out a few wrinkles thr gas gauge doesn't work I'm thinking this might be electrical because the water temp gauge beside it doesn't work either. any ideas suggestion or good places to start? I'm sincerely grateful for any help I get.

just bought my first cabby, in part thanx to this forum

well I'm now a proud '87 cabby owner! I've owned several bugs & I came across this decent lil cabby for 1500.00 So I bought her after a little research,mostly on here. she has a few wrinkles that need ironed out but I'm a decent mechanic & hopefully I goy Ya'll to help me get thru any stumpe...
