flashing red coolant guage light
Hi again This is another intermittent problem. I'll be driving along (once cabby starts or clutch is popped) and the red coolant guage light flashes, the coolant guage moves to overheating position, the volt guage pegs to the right, and oil temp guage moves progressively into danger zone (130-150), ...

starting problem
Cabby doesn't start. I've replaced starter, charged the 1 yo battery 2 days ago, made sure all connections are clean and tight. This is an intermittent problem because the new starter has worked, meaning the car has started since the starter was replaced. Last night: after getting the battery cha...

Re: engine loss of power
Installed new fuel pump, Shelly has some more power now. We'll see how it goes, I'm not convinced enuf that the problem won't resurface some time in the future, but for now so far so good. I was glad the eng. didn't need much cranking to get it going, the fuel accumulator must have had fuel in reser...

I picked up an '82 back in Sept. It hasn't given me any problems at all, runs like a top. Don't know how many miles it has, orig engine or not. The odo stopped working sometime in '97, it was 108,000 then. Guess its probably more like 200k. It burns oil a little, no major smoke, just 20 sec. of smok...

Yeah, I saw your section on cardomain right after I picked up my '82 in sept. All i can say, is right on. Those carbs are monsters. Are you going to dyno test it? Don't think I've seen/heard of dual carbs on a Rabbit, sounds mean. I bet it'll sound sweet. Keep up the fine work!
