Re: windshield washer pump
Well, Briano was right and the screwdriver in the steering column did the trick. And the new windshield wiper pump is super strong. Thanks for the help!

windshield washer pump
Hmm - well my wipers work fine (even on intermittent) and I can't hear the pump engage when I pull back on the stalk, so I'm assuming the pump has burned out. The fluid line seems fine, free of leaks, and had a good seal at both ends. I've already got a new pump and seal on its way for a swap, so th...

Help with Strut on 89 top
My left strut on the top is not staying connected to the lower arm. What do you use to keep the strut from sliding off the lower arm? I thought it was a pin, but I am wrong. Any ideas?

Stress bar advice
A friend recommended a stress bar for my cabby to help prevent chassis flex and sharpen the handling. Any thoughts or advice?

Re: New member ,with "Tunes" question
I might be wrong, but didn't latter year Cabriolets have a larger map pocket speaker box available? Those larger boxes can accommodate something heftier than than the std 4 x 6. Check ebay for the larger pockets. Also, there are several smaller integrated amps/woofers than can go under the passenger...

Map pockets
The car I purchased was lacking its map pockets. I've got a replacement sent from ebay, but can't figure out how it actually attaches to the door. Haynes is not very clear.
Thanks in advance

Interior and dash lighting ideas.
As my cabby slowly gets rejuvenated I am now trying to plan on interior lighting fixes. My only real gripe is the dash seems a little dim (the clock is in the dark) and I wouldn't be averse to updating the gauge face. My console gauges are another problem...only the voltmeter works 100%...the bar ca...

Adjusting the J-Hooks
Howdy. I'm curious as to any known methodology when it comes to adjusting / tightening the J-hooks on the convertible top. If anyone has any tips I'd appreciate it. My hooks seems to offer a little less resistance lately when locking the top to the windshield frame and I'm thinking a little tighteni...

Re: oil pressure mabye?
I can attest that proper filter and oil weight goes a long way to avoiding the low pressure light syndrome. Bosch filters seems to do the trick. :D When it comes to checking your own pressure mechanically... Is this easily done by a novice do-it-yourself type and what is needed to accomplish the tas...

I've heard the TMI product is of good quality.
Is the installation something a normal guy can do or should I look for professional help. (no jokes please )

Re: Oil Light problem...
My cabby has a similar issue...The light will only flash (no buzzer)under the following critieria:
1. Engine - good and hot - like after hwy
2. RPM drops below 1000 RPM
But not always...
Can anyone confirm that the low pressure sensor is prone to failiure?

Re: Cabby door cards?
If you have good skills (sewing stapling, gluing, wood working) then it is a piece of cake. I have done it, it is time consuming and can be costly if you don't have the tools. Cabrioworld and TMI make door cards. Thanks so much for the feedback. I've checked out the TMI cards. Are they good quality...

Cabby door cards?
Hello. I just got an 89 white cabby that I really like. I'm planning to slowly get her into restored shape. My question is how hard is it to deal with the door cards?
I'd love to hear on possible vendors for replacement parts as well as to the difficulty of the job for the do-it-your-selfer.
