Doesn't want to start in cold
Hey Calimus and others.... My daughter's 92 cabby is being a real turd in the cold weather. Engine cranks fine, doesn't want to stay running. She has to put just the right amount of pressure (very slightly) on gas pedal to keep it running and has to let it heat up before pulling out. I had it tuned ...

Front License Plate Bracket
Hey all ~ I live in Ohio. We MUST have a front plate on our car. My cabby came from KY - where only a back one is needed. I have the bracket. My question....does the bracket just screw into the bumper cover on my 92 cabby - or does it screw into the metal frame inside it. I know on the beetles (new)...

THANKS!!
THANKS to all. You're right...the Bentley is vague about this area. Really doesn't mention the antenna.
We'll try it in the morning. I think I know exactly what you all are talking about!!
Thanks again!

OK - all the advice I have been given on this website has panned out! And we are grateful! You all said...get a Bentley Manual - BAM - I bought a Bentley manual. You said "fix things yourself" and -BAM- we are fixing things ourselves! I am perplexed with this one though. How the HECK do yo...

THANK YOU
Being a new Cabriolet owner I am learning quickly. I am going to order the Bently Manual now. If all of you depend on it - so will I. I cannot afford much more at the dealership and we love the car too much NOT to fix it up. It is like NEW cosmetically! Thanks again to you seasoned owners from us ne...

ICV
I was talking to a friend of mine (mechanic) and was telling how the idle surges up high and then down low if you tap the accelerator while idling. It drives fine down the road, but when you get to a stop sign or put it in park there is an idle issue. It goes down so low that the preverbial oil ligh...

Idle Control Valve...
OK - I am taking many people's advice. I am going to dig into this cabby and fix a few things. Anyone out there got any advice on replacing the Idle Control Valve? It is an expensive part to be sure! Is this something anyone with moderate knowledge has replaced - or is this for the experienced cabby...

I know - I know. But I am the LAST person in the world that should be working on a car that my daughter is going to drive. I read what you all are doing on your cars and look at some of the projects some of you have posted pics on and it amazes me. I hate to wuss-out, but I am not up to speed on the...

Temperature Light Flashes
I have just had the thermostat and then the plastic flang (sp?) that holds it in place (it seems to warp over time?). Then we still had the flashing light! I look at the reservoir and it is very low. I added coolant and water and it the flashing light stopped. So I am going to keep an eye on the lev...
