I think I burned myself everytime we had the top down on the cabby or the mustang when I was down there.
Was it worth it? Hell ya!

I can't even think about doing any long term stuff. All the immediate stuff I have to do is taking all my money. CV boots, CV joints, heater core, hot running problem, and no dash lights. Seeing as I've got the radiator fluid drained I need to decide if I'm going to replace the radiator for good mea...

I've done a little research into this....the best price I found was at http://www.cabrioworld.com . I've also heard nothing but good about their service. Unfortunately, being in Canada it will be easier for me to buy the top from a local VW specialty shop ( Concept 1 ) who deals with Haartz if I rem...

I have the same 60/40 FK kit, and with 185/60/14 I don't rub unless I really crank the front wheels. I had 195/60/14 on the rear for a bit and the only time they rubbed was with 2 180 lb guys in the back. Even then it was just on the little bumps. I never tried them on the front, with the offset the...

I also say go for it. I've got the 10.1 on my cabby and they are amazing, so I can only imagine what the 11 would be like!! whee!!!! You'd never move around much in the seat because the belt would be locked up all the time :)

Well, it wasn't part of my original weekend plans. But I ended up having a nice electrical fire in my car. Haven't pulled the dash off yet to see what happened but I have no dash lights and the dimmer switch for the dash lights is not moving. Hope that's all it is, hope nothing else further in is fr...

The one way that comes to mind is to get a doner car, take the entire frame and top. Check how the wiring is done when you take it off then put it on yours.
I know that's not much help, but it is one way.

Head Liner and Insulation

I've read tonnes on the top replacement. Has anyone heard anything about headliners and the horsehair pads? I know that the pads can be repacked and reused (suggested to me by a shop), but, what is involved in removing and installing them?

Anyplace that you could point me?

from PDX's last post in this section: Place the palm of you hand, with as much surface area of your hand contacting the glass as possible, on the rear window at the upper corner. PUSH. The glass will slowly start to come out of the seal and will come right out after you release the initial hold of t...
