Re: Bug-A-Paluza 13

Brian, you should know better than to trust the forcast until thursday evening, and even then, it's still subject to change without notice. Was up late last night installing last minute goodies on my buggy... bright, shiny bits. Single most expensive item(s) I've bought for it. Still need to finish ...

Re: The past week in Car repiar

spent 6.5 hours at work today, replaced timing belt and water pump, installed an aftermarket oil cooler and trailer wiring, and re-balanced and rotated tires on Otto Pilot. Last weekend it was the other part of the 105k on her car - spark plugs, atf, rear end fluid, air filter, pollen filter... also...

Re: Bug-A-Paluza 13

oh no, I brought home a power washer from work just to get the mud off. I did it via garden hose once, which took a ton of water and more than twice as long. I was more referring to trying to wax it, which I couldn't do anyway, because the paint is a bit "dry" in some places.

registered. Last Saturday I spent about 2 hours washing Thanksgiving weekend's mud off the buggy... they're rather difficult to clean. Glad I'm not going to wax it or anything. talk about tedious.

Re: Bug-A-Paluza 13

I've got a guy I know from thesamba.com who moved here from cali w/ a baja bug who would like to come hang out with us, he's going to tow it or drive it. He might have a camper as a tow vehicle so he may or may not camp with us... I told him to we'd be glad to have him.

Full circle - buggy build & Memorial day weekend

Overall it was an excellent trip - couldn't have asked for a better weekend. There were TONS of buggies up there. My buggy did very well for it's first time out, the only thing I broke was a rear bump stop (stock) which I'm told doesn't count. I had some running issues... I had read up on 009 and 34...

Re: New project

Nice quality filter ya gots there, but does it scoot? it's a cookie tin cover on an el-cheapo empi cotton gauze air cleaner, the idea was to keep mud off the filter but I'm having to ditch the cookie tin b/c it's too big and rubs on the exhaust plus it's rather difficult to remove... going to go to...

Re: New project

Friday I spent around an hour with the guy at the nearby race car shop, he's been in the sport / business his whole life, , I'd guess he was about 50. He totally quit and sold all his stuff a while ago but got back into it, seems his specialty is min-mod cars, said he built & sold 27 cars one ye...
