Is it worth it? Damaged in accident.
Hey all, I'm in Ontario Canada. The long and short of it is I bought this 88 cabby last year for $4200, put about $1500 in work into it recently, and crashed it yesterday. Everything works, except the cruise control, and two dents in the floor when a previous owner jacked it up incorrectly, which ha...

Re: Cruise control and seatbelt lights, same circuit?
I always forget to post that for some reason... It's an 88, 5 speed manual.
Thanks for posting those wireing guides!

Cruise control and seatbelt lights, same circuit?
Hi all! I'm trying to debug my cruise control and whenever I turn the switch to on, my seatbelt light comes on. Is this normal? I checked in the Haynes manual's wireing guild and the two seem to be totally separate, but also in the Haynes manual wireing guide there is no horn, radio, or defroster so...

Re: High revs before engine warms up causes high idle.
Hahaha, fair enough.
Thanks anyways.
I'm starting to think it has to do with the timing advance mechanism in the distributor. If that's possible.

High revs before engine warms up causes high idle.
Hi all! I've had this intermittent problem where, if my engine isn't warmed up fully, an I rev the engine past about 4 or 5k, for a long while afterwards, the car won't idle below 2k RPM. It only rarely happens, as I don't usually rev my engine high because I don't want to wreck it, but the times it...

Re: After start, will not charge until revved past 3k RPM
Yeah, when the exciter circuit cable is working correctly, there is no need to blip the throttle at all on my car, the battery bulb goes out right when started, and the voltage gauge reflects that the battery is charging. True, all the bulbs aren't LEDs, but the Battery, Oil, Coolant Temp, Turn Sign...

Re: After start, will not charge until revved past 3k RPM
So, I think I found the problem. There is a second thin blue wire that runs from the alternator, and the connecter on it is badly corroded. When I play with the blue wires connector, with the key in ON and the engine off, the alternator bulb will come on or flicker. If I leave it in the place that a...

Re: After start, will not charge until revved past 3k RPM
So, as far as the alternator bulb never coming on, that may just be a wiring issue?

Re: After start, will not charge until revved past 3k RPM
I will try that.
I should point out that once I blip it past 3K RPM, it will continue charging even below at idle @ 900RPM.
Does that make a difference in your assessment?
Thanks again!

After start, will not charge until revved past 3k RPM
(I originally posted this in the General section, then realized that there is a better place for it, Sorry...) Hi all! I'm having an issue where, sometimes, after a start, my alternator will not start charging the battery until the engine is revved past 3000RPM. No alternator warning light or anythi...
