Also make sure the little blue wire on the altenator is not damaged, this is the exciter circuit for the alt, and has to be in tact for it to charge. And on my 87, the grounds were really crap, I have had to add some, especially for the chassis to make all my little gremlinssss go away

I have also seen a similar problem on the old cis cars, What i find is the problem with a lot of them is the ground to the ICM. It gets brittle due to engine heat because its located close to the fuel distributor and picks up a lot of heat. It will develop little breaks in the wire, and the resistan...

Also, if its a solid head, the lifters will have shims/pucks on the top for the valve adjustment.

Question? would a corrado G-60 set up be just as effective, and you can keep the digi? I mean, wouldn't be almost a direct swap mechanically, and you just move the electrics over? I know they were kinda piggish in the corrado, but the cabby is lighter. :?

Agreed, the combination of ignition timing, af mixture , and the screw on the back is more than likely the cure. Also, it may help to replace the little O ring on the idle screw,it tends to shrink and harden with age, and plays the self adjust game with you. Don't forget to squeeze off the vac line ...
