Re: before I get started
Looks like you have a great start on a nice cabby! I'm jealous of you guys that actually have a garage you can clutter up LOL. I live in a townhome with a strata that goes ballistic everytime I jack up my cars just to change tires, they weren't impressed with my waterpump change I did either, even t...

Re: My "Jagerbriolet"
Not much of an update, but after trying a few different things with RM bolts like attempting to polish them, paint, etc I decided that it would look better to just simply order gold bolts  I got a little sidetracked with selling off other old projects like both our B3's (Audi 90 & Pass...

Re: My "Jagerbriolet"
I was tempted to do that last year, but I'm keeping it old school. I just swapped in an Audi AAA 2.0L block with solid lifter head, Schrick 288 deg/440 lift cam, Supersprint header, so it rips fairly well nowspeedtek wrote:Very nice ride.......looks awesome

Re: Woo Hoo!! Audi AAA 2.0L 8V finally in my Cabby!!
Ok that's what I thought. I need one of those, cuz when I'm going down the highway at 65 mph the rpms are in the 3800 range. Yup, I ran short ratio tranny's in my previous mk 1's, with the exception of my '82 Jetta Gli. I tried a diesel 020 with a lightened flywheel with great success, hence why I ...

Re: My "Jagerbriolet"
Got some updates on this project: I previously posted the Audi 3A 2.0L/solid lifter head engine swap recently completed in the "Engine Performance" section, but there's a few other things that have recently happened as well-thought I'd give you guys an update. There was some nasty dents on...

Re: Woo Hoo!! Audi AAA 2.0L 8V finally in my Cabby!!
Thanks guys! Back in the late 90's in a previous '83 GTI I owned, I had a 2.0L ABA that had been built @ RPI with similar specs. That motor was truly a monster, this motor's pretty close though. The biggest difference was that I still was running the close ratio GTI tranny. This Audi Bubble block se...

Woo Hoo!! Audi AAA 2.0L 8V finally in my Cabby!!
After many months of procrastinating, I finally have the Audi 2.0L motor I purchased from a good buddy installed in my '81 Cabby. Here are the specs on the motor: Audi AAA 2.0L bottom end Rebuilt Solid Lifter head Shrick 288deg .440 lift cam Super Sprint 55mm header Intake manifold port matched to h...

Re: My "Jagerbriolet"
Is that an early Rabbit dash stuffed with a mk2 gauge cluster? Nice look. Funny how most mk1 guys upgrade to the Cabby dash. Dope. :banghead: Major Deja Vu. That's a complete Mk2 dash with gauges. I knew that it looked to "new" to be a mk1... Thanks mang! I'd never done a dash swap in my ...

Hey All, another Noob
Found this forum through Club Vee Dub, looks great so far! My WIP is an '81 that I ve had for a few years now & loving it! Though I've owned various MK1's over the last 20 years, this is my first cabby.
